there are lot of possibilities, first did you put the chip in right place and right direction on ZIF socket also test that is VCC and VDD present when you power on the programmer, also check is VVP comes on at MCLR pin of 16F676 when you press program button, if all OK then chip is defective.

That is the best thing about JDM-type programmers. They do not use a PIC to control the programmer, just some basic logic chips. All of the control is done by the software on the PC.

It's an ideal "First" programmer to make yourself.

now I'm very happy ,bcoz I don't need to buy any pickit for programming any pic uC.

The diagram in the first post of this thread shows where to place the MCU. The line indicates where to insert pin 1.
 

@fragnance.thanks for your circuit.Please why did u conect capacitor c11 negative terminal to +5v and c12 positive to gnd?how corect is it?pls xplain.i want to program pic16f84.how wil i insert pic16f84a into d socket?wher wil i start to insert pin 1 of the pic16f84? i've never programmed b4.my laptop serial port has a male conector bt in page3 u showed female to female conection.thanks

Typing in full English would help - there is no need for such abbreviations - they make your question difficult to read and thus less likely to elicit any help.
 
Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if this circuit really needs a 16V DC supply. I have a 15V dc supply and also have a 13V DC supply, I know the current doesnt matter as the circuit will draw whatever current it needs but the voltage seems a bit high to me.

I recently came across a universal Zif designed by you by the name PPICKIT2 UIVERSAL ZIF FINAL . The older version seems to have more options to Different type of PIC for example 20 pin PIC. I want to Know is there any other advantage like more PIC compatability in the New Zif connector configuration posted in this thead JDM Programmer Advance Hardware. waiting for your reply.

pikkit2 zif socket design have one option more then JDM it can program 10f series as well

So if you integrate PICKIT2 Zif socket with this new JDM Programmer Advance Hardware it will make a wonderfull combination. Is it possible to use PICKIT2 Zif socket for PIC 18F4550 and 18F4455

Hi Fragrance ,
I was checking the pin connections of your PPICKIT2 UIVERSAL ZIF FINAL for testing , can you kindly check the connections to pin No 7,9,15,27,28 of the zif. Is it required. I did not find any connections required in that pin based on your configuration. Can you please Kindly clarify for what purpose those connections are. Thanking you
