Hello to all, sorry for bothering with an old problem.

I have an ICD2 clone from SureElectronics, purchased in 2008.

**broken link removed**

Since first use he shows its tendence to lose 18f4550 firmware.
At first I was able to reprogram it with the Hex file received from Sure Electronics
( see also this thread : )

After 2 years of almost no use of it I decided to re-start and the old trouble come out again, so after looking on SureElectrnics forum here:
**broken link removed**

I ask them to send me such new firmware. They did it but now I receive this error message:
Code:
PICSTART Plus Firmware Version 04.50.02

Erase operation is successful.

Device is blank.

PICSTART Program\Verify Report
15-Jul-2010, 12:54:04

Device Type: PIC18F4450
Address Range 0-3fff

Configuration Memory Errors

Field : Boot Block Size Select
Expected:	2 KW
Received:	1 KW

and the ICD2 is not recognized from MPLAB (7.50).

The worst thing now is I am not able to program any other firmware anymore

Any idea ?

I received also a 16F877 hex file. I have to flash it too ? :?:

Re: ICD2 CLONE from SureElectronic - replacing firmware TROU

On another forum a user noticed I have selected 18F4450 instead of 18F4550  ... (no comment, PLEASE)

The GOOD news: selecting the RIGHT device flash reprogramming is OK :D

The BAD news: now MPLAB recognize ICD2 but it doesn't pass the self test. MCLR Vpp is too low even on 2 different PCs

Suggestions ?
