Harmonic Simulation

Does anyone knows how to simulate a circuit to determine the harmonics of the circuit? What simulation should i conduct ( AC, DC, PSS...etc ) in order to obtain a waveform as shown in the picture?

I'm using cadence and i'm trying to simulate the harmonics of a filter, ADC and opamp. Really hope someone can help.

You should do TRAN analysis, then do Fourier analysis.

Re: Harmonic Simulation

The best way to deal with harmonics would be harmonic balance simulation. It calculates responses at harmonics and mixing frequencies also.

I know ADS does this, and I suppose SpectreRF does the sime. But I cannot tell for sure as I do not have access to this program.

Re: Harmonic Simulation

Matlab is also a good tool to do it.

Re: Harmonic Simulation

generally there are two ways, one is to do the TRAN simulation with either spectre or hspice, then do the FFT, the other way is to do the PSS with spectre or use the ADS to do harmonic balance simulation.
