Hi,
Anyone knows, how to calculate RMS Phase and Amplitude Errors for 4-bit Digital Attenuator? If someone knows kindly help me in this.

Thanks in advance.

You are asking about a commercial attenuator IC, custom analog chip design or a discrete attenuator circuit?

In case of the commercial product, you'll derive it from datasheet specifications or need to measure it, in all other cases, you can calculate the errors if you know all circuit parameters, including parasitic elements.

Hi FvM,
Thanks for your reply. I am not using commercial Attenuator IC. I am designing 4-bit digital attenuator. Kindly elaborate this for my understanding. By which method or procedure i can find out RMS Phase and Amplitude errors.

thanks in advance.
