Distinguishing Partial Discharges in High Voltage Electronic

I was trying to use Neural networks Back Propagation algorithm to distinguish between different types of partial discharges.....
while formulating the algorithm in matlab, I faced some problems in using an optimised activating function and finding a suitable network.....

can any one help me out in this regard .. !!!

Is there any member of this forum who works on " High Voltage equipment "
more in particular " Partial Discharges " .which comes under the category Conditioning and Monitoring of High Voltage electronics.
