specctra preroute

Hi,

I'm using SPECCTRA for Layout to auto route some boards that I am developing. Here I have specified that the power pins fanout should be 'pin-cap-via' under the rules option. When I do a Preroute fanout of the board then this rule is followed. however, when run the route option afterwards, this rule is violated and independent vias for the pins and capacitors are created. How do I ensure that my rule setting is followed throughout the routing procedure?

also, I have specified the router to share vias. However, it is creating individual vias even for adjacent pins of the same component with the same net connection. What could be the issue?

Thanks

fanout & specctra

lock your nets after routing.
disable via movements

The preroute fanout sometimes creates vias in such a way that if I lock them out, then during routing, some other nets become unroutable.

correct the bad via manully and once you are satisfied lock them. one advise would be to stick to grid spacing.

Protect vias after fan out ..
then route
