Does anybody there tried to discharge one single cell?
It's over discharging bellow 0.8 volts.
The improvement from DD to detect one single cell is working properly, but discharge function has problem with one cell.

atmega8+battery+charger

I have built like i previously post, but i cant charge the battery, anyone have any idea, it sense voltage drop not more than 5 minutes in fast charge mode. i using -delta voltage method to terminate it. can anyone help me with this? I'm using two 2000mAH battery.

Your schematic is using pic 16f877 .I have no clue about the software burned into it so I can not help.You could try to contact the author or you could try using my schematic . PIC16F628A is cheapper.

Hi all!
I have built the charger and it works great in charging mode. (Tank you Dexter). I have not test the discharge yet, I have to calibrate it more precisely first. I wounder if it would be possible to add an summer how tell you when the charger goes into tricklecharge mode.

Hi all.
Now I have test and calibrate my charger. Discharge 1 cell, end at 1113 mV, discharge 4 cell, end at 4420 mV, it`s possible to go lower but I guess it`s better to stay some high, it is always one cell how is worse in a batterypack! I have 803 mV on charger and realterm show 808 mV read 77. The charger take a paus before slow charge and continue with high charge and end in trickle mode in both cases. Well, it works relly good

how can i connect battery 1,2,3or 4 conjugated(series) or separately(single one) that all will be charge. pls give connection diagram that according my needs I can charge 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 battery.

dexter dude: How long did u put for soft charging state? i had observe that when charging, the voltage is not stable in fast charging state, sometime it increase, and it decrease. Do u have any idea?

Added after 21 minutes:

dexter dude: i use 20% for soft charge, is it sufficient?
i use 1.25A to charge 4 batt NiMH in fast state.

Hi diginode. You can use batteryholders for R6/AA batterys, they are in different number of cells, from one cell to eight cells, even more I guess. And they are constructed so you always charge the batterys in series, plus to minus and minus to plus and so on.

according to this there is no option to charge single battery or 2 or 3 battery. If yes, this will a great bug in circuit. hope it will be recovered.

The charger works very very wel with 1,2,3 or 4 batteries conected in series.

Sorry for the delay.
For wee85:
Slow (or soft ) charge is performed for 6 minutes at 50% charge rate.This way some false peak readings are avoided. Yuo could use something like 20-50% for 6-15min .I used only 6 minutes becouse I am charging some 280mA ( at 3C rate ) and I want to be able not to overcharge them .If I would be using 10min at 50% I would be overcharging them.

Only NiCd and NiMh ( maximum 4 elements ) are suitable for this particular charger.

Hi. Almost two years ago I developed fully automatic intelligent NiMH/NiCd charger capable of independently charging two AA/AAA 1,2V cells with currents up to 1C. Charger is based on cheap ATtiny26 microcontroller and two switching-mode DC/DC step-down converters. Software uses dT/dt and -ΔV algorithms to cut off charging as well as provides top-off and maintenance charge modes.
