    [SOLVED] emulating a switch close

Hi, I fixed the problem. As you said the timing had to be perfectly adjusted for the pulse to switch on the wake up mode. Also it was necessary to use a driver as the micro's pin could not drive the wake up pin. It looked strange but direct connection to wake up pin from micro did not work...

    [SOLVED] emulating a switch close

Hi, I am using this GPS module. https://m2m-com.com/media/files/SIM18_EVB_kit_User_Guide_V1.00.pdf. I used PIC 16f 877a micro. The gps module works with a momentary switch. But it is not working if I sent a logic high to the switch connections. I will try the pull up resistor suggestion. Where...

    SIM18 GPS Module Power OFF

Hi, Do you have any idea how to turn this on/off with a microconrtoller?

    [SOLVED] emulating a switch close

Hi, I am working on a GPS logger. I am using Sim 18 module. This module by default boots up in sleep mode. To wake this gps receiver up (only then it sends the gps info) I have to close a switch. The switch is like a keyboard switch. After I release the press , the switch comes back to...

Problem with signal output of second order LPF

Re: second order lpf I was using a quad channel opamp, with single power supply (LM399). Thanks in advance.

Problem with signal output of second order LPF

second order lpf I designed a low pass filter as per the circuit given in https://www.sensorsmag.com/da-control/designing-a-second-order-anti-aliasing-filter-a-sensor-signa-5861 but the signal output is not coming correctly. For a sine wave input it gives out 3/4 of positive half correctly...

    second order low pass filter

I need to design two second order low pass filters with 15kHz (one filter) and 20kHz(other filter). I want to know which is better Butterworth or Chebychev? Can anyone provide circuit diagrams for the filter? Thanks in advance.

    removing the background noise

Hi all, In our data acquisition system we get some non-zero data for the system without connecting the input. I think this noise will add to the actual signal levels. How can I segregate the signal alone from this system noise. Thanks in advance.

Pressure measurement of a piezo resisitve sensor

Re: pressure measurement Hi all, Thanks for the reply. I am using a piezo resisitve sensor and a strain guage.

Pressure measurement of a piezo resisitve sensor

Hi all, I was told by my friend that I need a 4mA current source for measuring a output from a pressure sensor. Why is that required? Thanks in advance.

    Comparison of current sensing methods

Hi all, What is the difference between sensors giving current output and sensors giving voltage output? If I have a measuring system that takes only voltage and the if sensor output is current how can I measure the signal? If I pass the current through a resistor to get voltage and measure the...

    driving relays with micro

Hi all, Thanks for the replies. >do you just control the power of the computer case or case and monitor? I am not controlling the monitor. I want to use the micro board as a programmed switch that will on/off the pc board whenever I want. Thanks in advance.

    driving relays with micro

Hi all, I am going to control the power connection of a PC with a microcontroller . I am thinking of putting a relay in the smps out of the pc and switch the relay on whenever I ant the pc to be up. What type of relay (power/current rating or other specs) I should use and which microcontroller...

Help me get batteries for PC and signal conditioning board that will work for 3 mths

Re: battery requirement What is the embedded board with a button cell? Can you give more details ? I tried google, I get many irrelevant answers when I try for the embedded board. Thanks in advance.

Help me get batteries for PC and signal conditioning board that will work for 3 mths

Re: battery requirement Yes, the pc will and signal condditioning will be run for 3 months. The battery will drain out in 3 months, I am not going to change the batteries. Thanks in advance.
