Ze 800 series circuit breaker

I TOOK APART A CIRCUIT BREAKER FROM MY FURMAN POWER CONDITIONER.
THERE IS A LITTLE SPRING THAT FELL OUT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT GOES. CAN SOMEBODY HELP, THANKS. IT ALL WORKS THE WAY IT LOOKS IN THE PICTURE. IM JUST NOT SURE IF IT WILL TRIP OR NOT BECAUSE THE SPRING IS MISSING SOMEWHERE.

Not sure about circuit breaker switches. If this were an ordinary snap action light switch, then the spring would sit on the end of the toggle handle, so it can flip the brass contact bar quickly to either side, with no in-between state.

I guess you didn't disassemble the toggle however.

Often a spring is held in place by a nub or a pin.

I see a nub in a compartment. (Circled in red below.)



The compartment looks like a small fit for the spring. I believe the spring needs to be fully compressed, to fit over the nub.

Then its purpose is to stabilize the white slider piece, when it moves in either direction. It gives a firm tactile feel, when you move the toggle back and forth.

The second picture makes more sense. I think thats exactly where the spring needs to be seated. If it tripped, the spring would move the white slider up blocking the 2 contacts from touching each other. Thanks a lot.
