Hi crutschow ,

I am great confusion of calculation those w and L values in a transistor .. could u pls help me....
I am working 90nm technology..
tools is Tanner V14.
Any other details pls let me know.
thanks in advance

1. Do a dc operating point simulation of a NMOS and PMOS with some Vgs and Vds values.

2. Find out Id and Vth of both transistors from the operating point

3. Use the equation Id = 0.5µnCox(W/L)(Vgs - Vth)2 and calculate µnCox

4. Try this out for different values of W/L, Vgs and Vds and take an average.

5. Once you have the values of all the parameters of the process, use the Drain Current equation given in step 3 to find out W/L for the current Id you need and the minimum Vds you want so as to keep the transistor in saturation.
