Hi all,

Can anyone explain in an easily understandable way that why it is easier for impedance matching on substrates of low permittivity that on substrates of high permittibiy?

Thanks in advance.

for a given frequency the effective lambda decreases as the permittivity increases, so the delta change or small changes in length of tx line say quarter wave for matching case, becomes more sensitive as epsilon increases. and so matching would become difficult..!! hope u got what i mean to say.!!

I`m not sure. For instance GaA is basic for hight frequency material. It has permittivity =12.96 and loses 0.006.
It depends, low epsilon bigger micro stripe width and so on..
