Why is there no Xilinx ISE version for Linux?

I do not really know, why Xilinx has not released any linux version of ISE yet. I think it can make the work of many designers easier. currently, almost all of the FPGA development tools have released their products under linux, but Xilinx is still using windows.
OK! you can run coregen under linux because it is pure java. then you can use wine to do the p&r (very slow) but it can not answer designers needs.
 

ise for linux

It need special care of usb/parellel driver for jtag program/debug in linux. most of important ISE is a integrated OEM/ODM product. They need comprehensive cooperate with thoese vendors to migrate to linux .
