Why is high frequency resolution needed at low frequencies?

I was reading this article on Wavelet Transforms and I encountered this statement which said that in discrete time wavelet transform, lower frequencies are better resolved in frequency; Can anyone explain what is the reason behind high frequency resolution at low frequencies?
