for calculatin distortion, of BER, channel estimaion is necessary

Hi Friend,

Without the calculation of the channel how will you tranmit your signal??????????

Your signal must be passed and recieved through a line of specific path called Channel.

A "channel" is not ideal. The signal is corrupted/distorted in the channel. If you want a robust communication system, you must be able to compensate for the type of corruption which occurs in your specific channel.

A wire from one transistor to another can be considered a nearly-ideal channel. The open space between two wireless receivers hundreds of meters away is a less-ideal channel, and suffers from different types of problems. If you don't model the effects of the channel, then you won't really know what your signal will look like at the receiver.
