Fastest 8051

Hi guys..
More specialised in Moto micros.. So anyone can help me there? I need to know which manufacturer has the fastest 8051 around ? Dallas ?

Wow, this is really fast 8O .Huh i thought to advice DS89C420 but it is only 33 mhz :lol:

Guys, just to be correct in terms, what are you trying to compare here: the frequency of oscillator or the real speed of uC? If the second, then you'd better use term MIPS, but not Mhz. Well, in your case (I mean, DS89C420 and C8051f120) 1 MIPS=1 Mhz, but it is not the same in general. For example, the classical 8051 spends 12 cycles to execute one command, so there 1 MIPS=12 Mhz.

Thers is yet another solution . Is to implement a 51 risc core on a fast FPGA .. like xilinz spartan o virtex .. Then is posible to have a very fast 51 cpu ...

Yep pal, you're rite.I'm using DS89C420 and i use mips=mhz :oops:

Use DS89C420, it is fast and free, another there is already an available sofloader for it, therefore no need to build a separate programmer, it can be programmed in-circuit.

For anyone who doesn't know, Maxim has just started supplying free samples of the DS89C420 again - they had not done so for quite some time.

just go to **broken link removed** ind the part, click on free samples and register.

They've just sent me two. :D
