thanks

suse linux or red hat

for i know, rh9 cann't install ic5. but ic5032 is ok.

Re: suse linux or red hat

I installed cadence on Suse 9 without problems

suse linux or red hat

It seems that IC 5 and specially spectre, works better on SuSE than redhat however, I have personally used SuSE for a while and then I came back to mandrake. Want to use IC5 only? it is ok but if you want to use linux for more tasks then I do not suggest it.

suse linux or red hat

RH 9 is not stable, SuSE is not good, so i suggest to use RH 8.

suse linux or red hat

RH9/FC1 actually are ok for some major EDA tools, such as IC5032, Nanosim, modelsim, provided that the system is configured appropriately.

Re: suse linux or red hat

ShOaiB,

Why do you think that SuSe is not good? I have been used it to layout creation, extraction and simulation without problems.

Thanks

suse linux or red hat

RedHat7.2 is the best Platform for IC50.

suse linux or red hat

suse has better support

Re: suse linux or red hat

Bottomline ..... SuSe is the best for IC5.
RH can't come anyway near it in stability ...
I have used both SuSe and Redhat for 3 years for various EDA purposes and RH has always sucked one way or the other.

Use IC5 on SuSe only. Period.

Re: suse linux or red hat

Hi,

I’m trying to install cadence 5033 on suse 9.0 (AMD64), and I’m having a problem when I try run the configure script to setup and launch the license daemon. Here is the message I get in the log file:

Started cdslmd (internet tcp-port 32768 pid 2378)
FLEXlm version 8.4a
Can’t get date information from 600
Cannot open daemon lock file

Somebody knows what’s wrong with my system? (Apart from that every thing looks fine, and I’m able to run icfb on the machine)
Thanks!

Re: suse linux or red hat

what about the rest of eda tools (on suse/rh)??
like sy$/cad$?
