Whichever aspect it may be.......have an upstart with sedra/smith...this book has no substitute unanimously.

Good book is Razavi's Design of Analog CMOS IC if you're interested in analog IC. Has also introduction on MOS physics

Hope you find this useful:

If have not studied electronics before then I would definitely sugest Microelectronic Circuits by Sedra/Smith. Fourth edition would do. There one complete chapter on introduction to MOSFETs and then authors bulild on the basics in the next chapters. If you can get the latest (5th) that would be even better as it deals with MOSFETs before BJTs.

read sedra/smith's microelectronics circuits & m.h rashid's microelectronics circuits: analysis and design.

sedra/smith's is good on its explanation. and rashid's book have plenty of circuit simulations using pspice and practical aspects.

I will also contribute on this discussion with the most basic book on MOSFET or better MOST:

"The MOS Transistor" by Ioannis Tsividis, is the bible of MOST. It describes the MOST with detail starting from solid state physics. YOU MUST HAVE THIS!!!

Sedra/Smith is very good for a starter - I also recomend it. If you want something more Analog IC oriented check
"Design of Analog Integraded Circuits and Systems" by Lacker/Sansen.
Razzavi's any book on analog design are also books to have.
