Hi,

I am just stepping into ARM development using M0 Cortex 32 bit mcu, with C/C++ languages specifically. For this now I am using the Teensy LC board, this uses the Freescale Kinetis MKL26Z64VFT4 mcu, with the Kinetis SDK and IDE. My question is which of these are better ??

I have also found this from Cypress which is quite cheap compared to the 25Z from Freescale.

Cypress:

Freescale:

Basically what I am looking for is a platform that can be easily converted into the finished product, the cypress for example has a prototype board that can be broken off from the programmer and used in the actual product. The Kinetis has more components which I dont need. The Teensy is also cheap and has a bootloader that is useful.

My question which is better platform, and has better chance of being supported..Also are there any boards, prototype ones that support USB host capabilities ??

thanks

How about EasyMx PRO v7 for STM32 by mikroElektronika ? It has onboard programmer and debugger and works with mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal PRO STM32 Compilers.

Hi there, I just came across your question and thought you're having a situation similar to my current one. I'm trying to build a simple wearable using an ARM MCU and thought so far results I'll try to answer. Personally I used the STM32F4 discovery board , it's a real powerful Cortex-M4 dev board.
There is plenty of support out there for the board and useful resources + it has lots of features on and not really that expensive. On the other hand i don't think that it is that easy to convert it into a real circuit now that I'm done with the prototype and for a beginner like me , build a circuit for an ARM at first pitch sounds quiet challenging.
I think the cypress here wins if you can jump in and convert it into a ready product with no fuss.
Now looking at it i might get one for myself.
Good luck !
