could someone tell me the difference between multiplier and mixer?

A multiplier performs accurate arithmetic, Y = A * B.

A mixer simply combines two signals non-linearly, usually with the goal of creating new frequency products or amplitude modulation. A mixer can be as simple as two resistors and a diode. A multiplier is a mixer too, but it's an expensive solution if all you need are some frequency products.

mixer is used to shift signals in frequency domain but keeping the same bandwidth
while multiplier shifts the signal but also multilies the bandwidth

Are you referring to a frequency doubler/tripler/etc? Yes, they are called "multipliers" too. It's a single-input non-linear device that generates harmonics. Similar to a mixer with both inputs tied together. You add a filter that selects the desired harmonic.

a multiplier can be a core of a mixer
i think mixer is complicated than multiplier
