can someone please explain exactly what a SPIN LOCK is in an OS?? or direct me to some stuff which can make it very clear??

hey thanks for those links... i would also like to know if someone could suggest a good book for OPERATING SYSTEMS other then ANDREW TANENBAUM... is there some other "bible" of OS??
could someone upload it here??
