type of microcontroller

My project is about to fabricate a single phase controlled rectifier by using silicon controlled rectifier (SCR).

My problem is to design the control circuit that can give proper pulse signal to switch on the SCR.

Can anybody help me what type of microcontroller I should use in my project?

PIC18Fxxxx is good choose for U !

There's quite a few you can use.

PIC18s (Microchip) are very good for this kind of application... The ATTiny series from Atmel is also similar.

It kind of depends on what experience you already have with some microcontrollers.

for lower cost you may choice EMC serial

Hi, Would use a CPLD instead of microcontroller. Why ?. It can't crash and is much faster and more low cost than microcontroller.

Paul.
