I am new to VLSI and FPGA.
I want to learn about FPGA technology. So i decided to buy fpga board.
I want to know which board is affordable and good for the begineers.
What are the features should be consider before buying board?
I found some board that are affordable but dont know they are good enough. If you can tell us that would be great.
As such all the boards are good since they are made from reputed companies. I have a MAX II CPLD board at $50 I got to India from Taiwan.
www.slscorp.com
Indian based company who manufactures boards & also sells for other brands.
Regarding parameters while selecting board, I would say you should select board based on FPGA device it has, other peripherals like memory, switches, LCD, LEDs, no. of I/O lines required by you, etc.
Actually I don't work on FPGAs so I don't know about them much, but I work on CPLDs, where while selecting a board I found that although same family devices were present on different boards, there was a vast difference in terms of I/O lines, which can be crucial.
I would suggest DE 1 would be good for beginners, get it from slscorp.com
