What kind of role does callback method play in RVM of VERA?

I was puzzeld in calllback method when learning the RVM in VERA . i can't understand the function of callback method in RVM. Furthermore, what is the function of rvm_OO_callback Marco? In documentation, it is said to equal to a foreach loop.
