PPS on Gps

Can anybody tell what is the purpose of PPS ( Pulse Per Secod) on Gps.and how it is used.
 

PPS on Gps

The PPS signal is normally used to indicate excactly when a new secons starts.

Used in high accuracy clocks.

Maybe do a search on Trimble accutime

PPS stands for pulse per second.

It is used for synchronizing other instruments to GPS time.

The pps is pulse per second used in gps for synchronization.In this one pulse comes after every second so you can obtain accuracy of even microsecond
