What is the earth fault? Which circuit detects it?

Earth fault

Hi all!!!

Somebody could explain me what is a "earth fault"??, and there is any circuit to detect it?

This can also refer to power mains problems. If there is a current path from the hot (ungrounded) side of the power line to the earth, current flows through it. In dangerous situations, a human is a series part of this path.

This is why more recently build buildings have special wall outlets in areas that contain water outlets, like sinks and wash basins. These measure the current difference of the hot and neutral lines and if they are not equal, they open the circuit.
