hi, all

I would like to know what is the difference between a CML circuit and a differential circuit. Thanks

cml circuits

CML circuit is current mode logic,

it is belong to differential circuit,

the output signal of a CML circuit is current,

it can provide higher speed than

general voltage output logic.

other differential circuit include LVDS, TMDS,

ECL etc.

best regards

cml circuit design

Also, there has to be complete switching in CML, so the current is zero in one branch and Iss in the other.

cml switches

Could you provide some reference material on the principles of differential circuits,
some comparison, etc.

thanks

what is cml circuits

The basic switch for current is a differential pair. Logic uses switches => differential pairs.

differential pair cml

CURRENT MODE LOGIC(CML) USES THE DIFFERENTIAL PAIRS FOR DOING OPERATION IN HIGH SPEED, BUT THIS LOGIC CONSUMES HIGH POWER AND IT HAS LOW SWING AND LOW NOISE MARGIN.
