what is the definition of cross polarization in patch antenas?

Cross-polarization phenomenon in patch antennas appears when the patch is dual-polarized, generally using dual feeding points.
Cross-polarization is about interaction between the polarization modes.
 
In E-plane, measure the orthogonal plane (H-plane) and vice versa. That's the cross-pol.
