as the subject stated...

what is it?
what i understand so far,it's a method of transferring data to several (predetermined) different node (or IPs) simultaneously

how can it happen?
was it done by software or hardware?

please submit your precious comment...

thanks a lot

ps: sorry for my awful english :D

Multicast address is defined by a dedicated IP-address eg. above 224.0.0.0. till xx.
So you have only to send IP-packet with those address range.

however that brings me to another question...

were there any application/programs that can deliver multicast packet? but not like such thing as online games, voip or conferencing apps

thanks

btw i need the application to send packets to several IP simultaneously

can anyone suggest a suitable application?

thanks

Multicasting can be corelated to Yahoo groups where all the members of the same group can receive mail hust by sending mail to group address.
