This come from the synthesis methodology. Talus use the Straight Based to fix load, logic optimizing and buffering at earlier flow since Blast used Gain Based methodology. Beside that, Talus have more automation flow for flow power partitioning and multi-mode/multi-corner for timing. The DFM is taken advanced account from gate placement stage to post-routed database.
Some tools claims on RTL to GDS properity, but in reality output needs extra processing. What about Talus, is it real RTL to GDS tool? Can we use it for signoff?
Magma have user support site names 'Molten.magma-da.com', you can refer the documents for free. Talus and Blast are most advanced tools I learn. The design engineer will take the stdcell foundry given file to volcano library using library preparation commands (Magma have the document for this topic too). The output of Magma tools are the common EDA formats so that you can sign-off with third-party tool such as SM,... . Go to Magma website and read the white-papers for more detail!

Talus was branched out from Blast during the law suit between M@gm@ and syn0psys several years ago, It's M@gm@'s back-up just in case, after years, all the enhancement, later on development went into T@lus, and some went into Bl@st, and m@gm@ intended to give-up Bl@st, promot T@lus to get more money from customer like what other EDA vendor did.
