I want to know how is field of EMI/EMC sounds mainly focused on?
Do EMI/EMC deal with more with computational electromagnetics?
Or they are more like RF/microwave circuit design, in which practical project experience is important?

It seems that this field small. How about the future prospect?
Further, can anyone suggest some EMI/EMC research groups in U.S. universities?

I'm quite curious about this field.

Thankyou!

When you design a system whether it is for automotive electronic industry or RF, you would like to have an EMI ruggadized system. It is morely on the RF side because the system radiates/recieves noise when there is no proper shielding or impedance mismatching..etc.
You probably know that,at RF frequencies even a PCB via acts as an inductor. So think about leaded components..ufff !!!
They tend to act as antennas...can be a transmitting antenna or a receiving one..

And this is not a small field. If you can do better in signal integrity analysis kind of things, you could possibly get a job in INTEL..

All the best..!!!!
