what is servo motor . how it works
i heard it having some feed back?

Servo motor can be controlled by PWM.
Yes it is a close loop system.
It being incorporated with potentiometer to control the angle of the rotation.
It can stop and hold its position not like DC motor which we need to hold it mechanically.

DC servo motor usually use for electronic hobby kit, smal robot, remote controlled air plane and etc.

AC servo motor is used for industrial robots.

you can refer this link dor detail:

wt is construction wise differince in dc motor and servo
how they r taking feed back

For servo motor there is potentio meter circuit that will be connected with the DC motor shaft to control the angle of the rotation. If we give such a PWM it will rotate to the certain angle depent on the PWM width.

That is the different between DC Motor and DC servo motor.

potentiometer circuit how will generate feedback

Potention meter being connected to the shaft. When shaft rotate the potentiometer also will rotate.

I am not sure signal that the potentiometer send back to the circuit whether varying voltage, varying oscillation or etc.

But the concept is when there is PWM signal to the servo. The servo motor will rotate until the location where potentiometer will give an input back to the circuit this is the correct angle and hold at that angle.

servo motor

a hydrolic motor with feedback also can be called as servo.
i mean the speed is controlled by electronics through a valve

Re: servo motor

may i know that got any brand of servo motor that i can use to build my own humanoid robot????

can consult or give some information for me to building this prototype????

thanx a lots!!!!!!!
