Hi all,

One of my customer asked for a half etched fiducial. Can anyone explain? its very urgent

Thanks in advance,
Vamsi

I don't know why you would want a half etched fiducial, but a fiducial is
a etched marks or drilled hole used for optical positioning during assembly processes.

Two types of Fiducial :

1. Local Fiducial

2. Global Fiducial

I know "half etched" only from stencils, it's actually "half-lasered" in recent stencil technology and the usual way to apply fiducials and text on solder mask stencils. Half etched for PCB doesn't seem to serve a purpose.

I just know the half etched fiducial is using for the stencil projects, not PCB.
