Hi, i'm kinda new here so i'm not sure where to post my question at. Please pardon me.

I'm currently working on a project and my supervisor has asked me to find out what is a 4-layer PCB.

Cant seem to find the answer anywhere online. Would appreciate your help. Thanks. :D

Re: What is 4-Layer PCB?

4 - layer PCB = 3 Signal layer + GND layer.

Re: What is 4-Layer PCB?

Or it could be 2 signal layers and a VCC layer and a GND layer. (or whatever supply rails you use).

Re: What is 4-Layer PCB?

4 layer PCB simply means you have 4 layers to rout electrical signals. that is 1.Top layer 2. inner layer1 3. innerlayer2 4.Bottom layer.
here TOP and bottom layers are the outer layers where we are placing componets and do some routing
inner1 and inner2 are normally used as power planes ( VCC ,GND etc), can can be used for signal routing also. It depends on the complexity of your board and nature of signals (RF,analog etc)
