Hi,when I try to transfer the hex. code of a program to PIC16F688 ,the programmer window(the software(microbrn) window that I used to program the chip) shows an error message 'fuse error' and the program is not working properly. What does the 'fuse error' means?

In lower right side, click on fuses and set them manually.

Some of the very famous PIC programmer can not read fuse configuration from hex file and it gives an error window such as "Error in hex file - Fuse......" especially when loading PIC18FXXX series.....

In that case, you can use following fixhex2.exe program to correct fuse values...
