LVS ---> Layout Vs Schematic

Once Layout is developed we need to validate the layout with the schematic. If u make any mistake during layout development, it will exactly catch the error.

LVS - Layout versus schematic.

after completion of layout we can compare layout with schematic diagram.

if it is not match we can add some RC Delays(resistence and capacitence) in layout and equate both.

at last we can get functionality same in both.

LVS compares the layout with netlist for device and net mismatches.

Backend Design Flow:
Floorplanning
Powerplanning
Physical Optimization
Clock Tree Synthesis
Routing

Generally the Global On chip variation analysis is done after CTS and final OCV analysis is done after Routing. Generally, the above steps are performed using one or other P&R tool in the industry.

People also verify their layout results using some sign-off tools in the industry. Designers use Calibre to do Layout Verification ( LVS/ERC/DRC ) and Prime Time to perform timing analysis.
