what type of step down transformer is suitable to use for design a step down transformer form 240V to 12V-15V?

You question is not clear. Can you give more detail?

stepdown is used to convert from 220v to 110v
to convert to 12-15v you can use a transformer having secondary output as 12-15v
also mention what current ratings you require

Are you asking about

types like EI or Torroidal etc.....

Please clarify
