Without a schematic we can't advise you.

In general, you can safely leave unused OUTPUT pins discoonnected. Unused inputs should NEVER be left unconnected, they should be tied to one logic level or the other.
Without knowing how you have it wired and which pins you mean, nobody can be specific about what you should do.
