use of dsp in consummer electronics

There are many uses for DSP in consumer electronics that range from basic to advanced. Some advanced examples are voice recognition and computer vision. Some of the basic examples would be a voice changer. Anytime you collect a sample of data that needs to be converted or filtered to get a superset of that sample, you would most likely use DSP (or some hardware tricks).
 

yah, iv read about coding, synthesis and recognition- bt then i wasnt sure which appliances these are used:radios, cellpphones??
