unipolar stepper motor driver

i have a unipolar stepper motor.its specifications are TYPE:23LM-C701-01 , N/P: RH7-1048 04 , 5.2V/PHASE , 1.4 A/PHASE, 1.8 DEG/PHASE...
i have made the l297/l298 stepper motor driver which is shown in the datasheet of l297..

reset=1
clock=PWM
H/F=0
CCW/CW=1
vs=12v
vref=0.5v
Sense resistor=0.5 ohm

but its not working..when i check that l298 gets warm and the motor is not working..can anyone help me with this??..

actually i want to use l298 with l297..i dont want to use the separate darlington transistors..kindly help me with this..help..
what is the mistake which i m doing in the circuit which i have referred..?

i am trying to control the l297 with help of pc parallel port how should i give the clock pin can i just generate the pulse and wat abt t home and sync pins

Hello Dear




Consider following steps hope it will solve your problem:

(1) Check all power supply connection
(2) Check weather motor is not short circuited..As L298 getting hot it may be due to short circuit of motor
(3) L298 has two supply one for Motor Power and other for LOGICAL ....make sure you are not giving Motor Power supply of motor to logical supply of vice versa




L297+L298 working well for me...I may be probably CONNECTION PROBLEMS...
