Hello,

I am facing this basic problem in Tanner S- Edit v 15 for few days. When I open the tutorial and make a new cell, on selecting a device from library and after editing the instance property, I am unable to instantiate the device on the schematic sheet. As per various tutorials on the net, just after selecting the device, it should 'stick' to the cursor and show on the schematic sheet (and after pressing left mouse button, it should get placed on it). The warning on the command box is : SED Warning: Instance name validation proc "IsLegalInstanceName" not defined.

Though this may seem funny but I am unable to proceed without being able to instantiate a component. Any advise would be of much use.

Thanks,
Hobbyiclearner.

Not a Tanner user, but this error looks like some callback
is not triggering correctly and probably not found at all.
I would look to the installation, especially whether your
$PATH includes what it is supposed to include for the tool
to find its own collateral "stuff" and whether the software
is installed in its default location.

Can you pls elaborate.... The tanner tools are installed in C drive and the examples, tutorials (on which I was trying) are installed in D drive. I checked environment variable to find Path as %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem and Tannerhost as local.

Thanks,
