Hi everyone
As a new user of ADS, I have designed an amplifier based on a schematic I have found in a book. Now I want to run a simulation so as to check if my PA works fine. There is no simulation error but my question is: How to apply input 10dBm tone and the amplifier frequency. In my schematic I only put term with 50ohms at both terminations. in other words how to display the results such as PAE, drain efficiency, output power. thx in advance

yes. Actually I will be working on a power amplifier project and the requirement is that: the power amplifier should require 25dBm of input power to reach its maximum output power

For those style measurements from a simulation you need to be doing a Harminic Balance analysis. If you have only termination on the network under test then you are probably just doing a simple linear analysis and in that case such measurements are not possible.

Use the menu command Insert > Template... to select HB1Tone, HB1ToneSwptFreq or HB1ToneSwptPwr to see example schematic to configure this type of simulation.

Make sure the design for the amplifier contains non-linear Spice-like models for the active devices and not simply s-parameter models. S-parameter model data will not generate power/bias dependant performance to be able to see the required measurments.

Ok thx I understood the harmonic balance part but what do you mean by non-linear Spice-like models?
thx once again for your response.
