What are the steps for troubleshooting a PCB when the problem is that the processor on the board is consuming much more current that it should consume?
I am sure there is no problems in soldering.
Also, please give me resources for PCB troubleshooting in general.
In industry, there are 2 ways to assure the board "behaviour" is according predicted :
> Thermal camera -- Allow you find exact point were there are an overheating.
> Gigatest -- measure a lot of paramenters, and higest level, talk to some components.
Thanks Andre, most probably it's a design error, in schematics or pcb layout or even errors in the footprint, what are the steps of troubleshooting in the design software? (I don't have the physical pcb, I got design files) ..
It´s hard to defino with no more details.
For example : If an I/O is defined in Hardware like uC input, but if is defined in Firmware like output, signals will be conflicted ( uC output x Circuitry output ), and even it coud be a reason to overheat the uC.
