Why cannot a wave cannot pass through a waveguide (with dimension less than wavlength/2 ) ?

Because the currents in the waveguide walls are not out of phase, so their magnetic fields are not out of phase so the mag. fields cancel and no further propagation occurs.

If the magnetic fields are not out of phase how do they cancel each other..?
