I would like to know how these types of transformers are connected. It only has 3 wires on it (no primary or secondary like conventional transformers) with the inscription under each wire 0v 220v 240v
I am feeding in 240v and require an output of 220v.
This is an Ac circuit.

Please explain in detail as I am not very experienced.

Sound like an 'auto transformer'. Connect your 240V between 0V and 240V. You will then get 220V between the 220V and 0V terminals.
