When I try to install soc encounter, some errors show as following:

tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Archive contains obsolescent base-64 headers
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Who can tell me how to solve this problem.Thanx in advance!

sometime you can not untar a .tar file under the windows OS, Such as using winrar etc. Do it under LINUX OS will be OK.

I had that problem too.. I tried untaring it on a sun box and a linux box with the same problem.. the only way i solved it was to redownload the tar ball..

What is the exact extension of the file and where are you trying to extract it using which tool. I mean are you untarring using rar under windows/linux or you are extracting using tar command under linux?
