Dear all,

I don't quite get the idea of the Gaussian Pulse.
In xFDTD menu, it states that the width in air is suitable at 32 steps, which is also the default.

But where did they get that? And how should I decide the pulse width if I am calculating in dielectric, so that wavelength is different?

Should it still be about 32 steps?

Thank you very much!
