Hi could any one tell the effects of the thrshold voltage on the perfomance of CMOS.... or give any materials explaining them...

Re: Dependence of Vt

it is not the cmos but it holds good to any type of mosfet......
you can find details about threshold voltage in book by DONALD NEAMAN

Re: Dependence of Vt

are u a newbie in this field as ur finding a lot difficulties.

read some books.

Dependence of Vt

Vt determines Vgs

Re: Dependence of Vt

For analysing , whether a MOS is ON r OFF(sat r in active), v need a reference voltage , above which the condition changes... i.e) when Vgs<Vds (OFF) and vice versaa...

the Vt depends on fabrication , Ambient temp...
For more info refer Sedra...

Re: Dependence of Vt

Vt of a MOS determines how it behaves... it controls the current, when the MOS turns ON or OFF ..... it mainly determines when the MOS enters saturation or triode region or cutoff region and the biasing and other things can be calculated only if Vt is known......
