Let's say I need to design a macro that is about 10k-20k transistors in mixed signal design. What is the best solution (in term of the best timing vs accuracy) for power analysis in the following conditions:

+ Using PrimePower: If I have RTL for the digital parts and its standard cell library power information. But, there is not any power information for the analog cells.
+ Using Nanosim: Same condition as above but my design using SOI process (spice model level=57). Does nanosim support it?
+ Using Hspice:
+ Simulate the whole macro using StarSimXT.

Thanks in advance,

It is
PowerCompile + PrimePower+naroSim+PowerMill

Re: What is the best Power Analysis tool?

Does anyone try nanosim with SOI technology (model level=57)?
How accurate it is?
I always have segment fault error when run directly and others unkown errors when run with option -z that invoke gentech util.

Re: What is the best Power Analysis tool?

hi,
I think it should be :
rtl : power compiler
gate: primepower
after p&r : voltagestorm
I think it's enough for ASIC design flow.

Power Theather

Re: What is the best Power Analysis tool?

My vote goes for C@dence VoltageStorm

Re: What is the best Power Analysis tool?

After $ynop$y$ modify the product line, I think /n/a/n/o/s/i/m/ is better, especially for deep sub-micron.

Re: What is the best Power Analysis tool?

Hi,
Cadence voltagestorm is a power tool mainly used to analysis IR-drop and EM

I think
PowerCompile + PrimePower+naroSim/PowerMill/HSIM is very good!
