technology behind LED light - technical details

LED Light

Hello,

Can anyone give me useful technical information about LED Light which runs on battery like lithium ion battery or Ni-Cd battery..??

The question is not so clear. Basically any LED will work with any power source provided the current is limited and the volatge is above the junction limit. (1.8volts in a basic LED). Cheers

I am talking about the technology behind LED light, technical details, there's also optical engineering behind this... am i clear????
