comsol versus silvaco
As part of my research, I would like to perform 2D simulations of power MOSFETs. The doping profiles is assumed to be given.
I already have access to Comsol Multiphysics (a general-purpose solver), but since I haven't used it before, I have been exploring other software solutions. I came across Silvaco Atlas, which seems to be a popular choice in semiconductor device simulation.
How does the two compare in terms of
- learning curve (how quickly one can learn the tool)
- complexity (how much physics one has to deal with)
- predictability and accuracy of results
- speed of simulation
- other points of comparison you would like to add
Thanks,
Sam
